Keum-Boo different Approach
|
In this mostly self-paced learning course, you will learn how to adhere fine silver foils to copper and create a piece or few of your choice. For a purpose of this workshop, I will suggest working with simple dome or flat shape. We will not set pieces in prongs or bezels. If you do not know how to do that, think about a design with a hall for a jump ring to accommodate ear wire and/or chain of your choice. Upon purchasing workshop on my website, I will add you to a private Facebook group where you can review tools and supply list, watch pre-recorded video and other documents. All uploaded material is pretty much self-explanatory. I will teach this technique using UltraLite Kiln. Other heat sources, like Countertop Electric Hot Burner would be discuss. UltraLite kiln is very versatile piece of equipment in your studio not only for Keum-Boo technique, but else for granulation, flashing fine silver and handmade fine foils for enameling, enameling, and working with metal clay. The main and the most important portion about how to adhere foils to copper shape will be life. Most likely via Live fixture in the Keum-Boo Different Approach Group on Facebook, but I keep Zoom as an alternative option (you want to have to have Zoom account to participate). The reason I design my workshop that way is to make them feel as closed as possible to face to face workshops and at the same time give you a liberty of working at your own paste in your own home. One life session will be about me showing how to do Keum-Boo with fine silver foils and copper. When you will have a week to work on it and upload your work into designated album. In second session I will answering your questions related to this workshop. Because, we may have students leaving in different time zones or some may conflict time wise, I will try my best to accommodate that and do two life session. In different day and/or different time. Live demonstration video will stay in FB group. To be honest I do not know for how long, but more likely until I will offer this class again, not any time sooner than 3 months for a sure, maybe later. Yes, registration will be open for limited time and/or limited number of people. For this class you will need basic metalsmithing skills like ability to cut shape, file edges, drill halls. It is great and fun workshop for beginners as well as seasoned jewelers. No refund after purchasing. Please, ask all the questions before purchasing. |
