The colors of summer
My garden, my flowers are always inspiring my creation. These earrings are no exception. Echinacea (Conflower) flowers bloom all summer long in my garden and are so cheerful. I combine a number of enameling/metalsmithing techniques in the process of creating these earrings. Hot pink and Orangi flowers floating on opalescent background (Faberge favorite technique). Petals are shaded in different colors in the same family. Enamel painting technique used color flower cones as well as decorating backside of the enamel piece (counter enamel). Counter enamel is essential to keep enamel intact and free of cracking, but it does not have to be boring. Back plate is else pierced with jewelry saw, so earrings are beautiful from the back, not only the front. Enamel is done on sterling silver and set in sterling silver. Secure and comfortable sterling silver closure complete the earrings.
